  • Deleting the Updates Folder

I'm prepping for a move and am backing up all my HS stuff. I've noticed that th updates folder in the HomeSeer directory is 311 MBs. If all my software is runing as advertised, do I still need the stuff in these folders, or can I nuke it? or should I nuke all but the "latest" version subfolder of each plugin, etc.?

    Thanks
    John

    John,
Since the updater now includes a "last version" of the biggies like HS and HSP I would say nuke them.

Don't nuke the whole folder as the updater log file, descriptions and icons folders are updater files.

In the spirit of working with HS, maybe Rick could have the update call a script (updater_script.txt) upon its completion.

The user could then write a script (or grab a copy from another user) that deletes older updates based upon our own criteria (e.g., number of updates to keep, age of older updates).

The downside is that you would not be able to have the script contain any HS commands since the updater will more than likely have shut HS down.
