    Rick,

Isn't your previous post a little outdated? I have the Nuvo essentia and the RS323 commands seem to provide good automation capability. You can call out any zone to mute and restore after?

Yes, you can use the Kustom system. As a user of one of those myself however, I hope that you never desire to have individual zone control of the system. I will never do business with Kustom/Nuvo again.

If you have the announcement go through all zones every time, then you are fine. If you want to mute certain zones at certain times however, then the Kustom, having absolutely no sort of automation interface of any kind, can only be controlled by having a zoned IR controller (e.g. SECU16-IR) and an IR output on/in every zone keypad. Since the zone keypads use all 8 wires and I only ran one 8 conductor wire to each keypad location, I was forced to buy a 2nd keypad for each zone that is connected in parallel with the one out in the room but located in the basement where the wiring area is located. This 2nd keypad for each zone is then where I put the IR emitter output.

    Pain in the behind.

Caller-ID is something that would be nice to implement.. as far as speakers go, I have a 6 zone Kustom amplifier with speaker outputs in each room/zone. It sounds like we have everying in place, is this correct?

    Thank you,
    George

If you plan on having HomeSeer announce Caller-ID, reminders, speak the weather, etc. then you need speakers, amplifier, and probably some good quality voices. If you are looking only for a specific set of functionality in this shopping list then please disregard.

If you are looking for voices, then you can get the high quality HomeSeer voices for free by purchasing some of your Z-Wave equipment at our store (the May special is still active).

    George_45,
I see your going the Z-Wave route. Are all of your light switches one way switches? Also, if you had posted the attachment as a regular file I believe many more could/would view it. Some users may not have an XLS viewer.

    What have i left out?

    Hello,
I posted a similar message a week or so ago, and i believe i have all the equipment ready for order, I was hoping you experienced users could take a look and see if im leaving anything out

My Goals for the Audio/Video is to be able to create macros where one button on my iPronto will set a lighting scene in my theatre room, as well as turn on the Reciever and start the dvd, etc... The next concern was my security, i decided to focus on 3 motion detectors in the front of the house which when closed will send an X10 signal via the powerflash and turn on my landscape lighting. I hope this is enough information to give you an idea. please feel free to question/comment

    here is my setup:

    Reciever: Sony, STR-DA2ES
    DVD: Sony, DVP-NS700P
    CD: Sony, CDP-CX455
    MP3: Turtle Beach, AudioTron
    Zone amp: Kustom, KHS6640
    TIVO: Hughes Series 2
    Projector:CINEZA (newer model)

here is the list of equip:
