    Appliance Conrol downstream of UPS

Not really a new user, but have a new problem.

I have several devices that I am going to protect via UPS. This includes my router, cable modem, and all my security cameras. These devices have been controlled (rebooted) via X10 modules and HS events in the past. Putting them behind UPS renders X10 control of these devices impossible.

What is the preferred method of on/off control in this situation?

    Thanks in advance

    Tom

Either move to a non powerline appliance module like the Z-Wave relay modules or move them off of the UPS. These are notorious for upsetting X10 signals. http://store.homeseer.com/store/Plug...Relay-C62.aspx

Rupp in post #2 of this thread http://board.homeseer.com/showthread...ht=z-wave+rupp you indicate the need for 6 or more z-wave devices for reliable operation. For my ups protected power supplies I need about 4. Would you still recommend z-wave for this??

        .

If all of the devices will be close to each other and the Z-Wave controller then this should work just fine

70 feet, multiple walls, floors, 2 stories.. Is that "close"?

No. That's definitely not close enough.
