Hi, Sky (in the UK anyway) have recently pushed everyone on to SSL email servers. I know homeseer doesn't support that right now and after looking on this forum I've seen a few threads about stunnel so I downloaded that & set it up.
The post I used was this.
It was set up for gmail but I edited the conf file to add in the Sky SMTP/POP servers, then shut down stunnel, homeseer, loaded stunnel and then homeseer. Using a simple manual send email event I'm getting the following error:
09/03/2008 22:44:05 - Error - Sending email using SMTP: The message could not be sent to the SMTP server. The transport error code was 0x80040217. The server response was not available
I found this via google:
"It's caused by a wrong username or password for the SMTP server an
usually means that the server has disabled your account for spamming i
you've sent 1500 mails"
I know the username/password are ok but I have had loads of rejected emails from Sky because of not using SSL, I've emailed them in case...
Does anyone know anything else about this?
Thanks.
