"Speak" Action

The server I'm using to host HS2 has a sound card installed and I can play music with WinAmp or MediaPlayer through the attached speakers just fine. When I start HS2 and try to get it speak anything (using just the simple "speak time" event that's included as an example, for instance) I get no sound. The Speaker client is installed and connected, although I do get an error dialog from Speaker on startup which says "Error initializing Voice recognition, probably not installed, check your Speech control panel: Exception from HRESULT: 0x8004503A". After clicking OK, I get a normal-looking window that seems to indicate the Speaker client is running and connected. When I "speak" in an event action, I see a text bubble that shows the correct speech -- but no sound from my speakers.

Any suggestions?

See if your TTS works via the speech control panel applet. If it doesn't the the speaker app will not work until this does.
