    Help with event

Can somebody please help me with a couple of things.... How do I make an event to...

    1. Turn off a light when no motion is sensed for 10 minutes.

    2. Play a TTS every 5 minutes if the front door is left open.

    Thanks for your help.

It depends on how the HomeSeer device for your motion detector was created whether it can use a device status change trigger (it uses On/Off status to indicate motion) or a device value change trigger (it uses status/value pairs to display Motion or No Motion). I will assume the value/status pairs, so choose the trigger type of "Device Value Change". Choose the motion detector type, and then choose "for at least" for the trigger type. The UI will refresh and will then display a text box where you can enter 0:10:00 for 10 minutes. You should also add a condition that the device you are controlling (e.g. a light) is ON, so that you are not sending out an OFF command each time there has been no motion for 10 minutes and the light is already off. Now just add your device action and you should be all set.

Use a trigger type of Recurring, set the interval to 5 minutes, then add a condition to test for the front door being open.
Without the condition, the event would run every 5 minutes, so the condition is your gatekeeper to it triggering or not.
