internet provider having a monthly useage.. is there a plugin

Ok so question.....

my internet provider (comcast) is now limiting downloads... well gonna charge more if you go over a certain amount...

so I can download 250GB a month.... ok I dont do that much, however I do use programs that get updates via torrents or tv shows from tv channel websites...

hell I just installed vista on 1 computer and the updates were 2.5gb and installed xp on 2 other machines for 1gb updates for each of them...

world of warcraft updates are via torrents
tv channels after a show is on can be downloaded from their website

online gaming

so many things... anyway...

Is there a program or plugin that can tie into a
linksys wr54g router that I can reset on a monthly basis?

I'd rather a plug-in that kicked them in their corporate butt, hard. I dropped Comcast when they first said that and went to Verizon, not that they won't do it too at some point it was just one of those spur of the moment protest moves.

well verizon only has the slowskies in my area...

fios is not here yet.. and I am also WAYYYYYYY faster than fios on download speeds....
fios has me on upload.. which would make hosting games a bit better....

250gb isn't all that much, don't you have DSL in your area? people talk down DSL, but I am happy with it and I host 5 websites, run my own mail server and DNS not to mention the websites I scrape continuosly with both HS and Mainlobby and the other 4 computers in my house AND DSL is not shared bandwidth like the cable companies

is this a move that comcast is doing nation wide? I have fios in my neighborhood, and this may put me over the edge.

well comcast is doing it to various areas.... yes they are taking it everywhere...

have you logged into your webmail lately? now it is a different type of website.. it sucks.. called smartzone

I was going to call comcast later today.. maybe sooner.... as if they are going to cap your monthly useage... then they should give you a monitoring tool..

the other thing is that they are not going to stop you at 250gb... however there is a price per mb or gb... and I hear it isnt cheap!!!!!
