Hello,
I run Vista Media Center on another PC to my Homeseer, both in a rack in the basement.
I would like to be able to control my media center from HS, but really dislike doing this by IR - would much prefer something more solid and reliable.
I posted a question on thegreenbutton.com to see if Media Center was scriptable, and whilst not directly, the program below allows keystokes to be sent to media center via a command line
http://www.mediacenterguides.com/mckeysender
So, if I have this installed on my Media Center, is there a way to run a remote vbscript on another machine from HS to invoke this program and send a key command?
If so, I think this would be a good way to pause Media Center when the phone rings, switch channels in the morning, and other things related to better integrating Media Center with HS?
Or is there an even better solution?
Thanks for any advice
Jon
