    Reinstalling everything

After recieving a very nasty bug, I ended up reformating and reinstalling the OS.
    1. What is the easiest and cheapest way to open my old .mdb file for HS?
I don't want to do an over-write, I want to start from scratch. The onl;y prob is (silly on my part) I got out all my cd backups and can't remeber for sure which scrits I was actually using and which I tested and ended up not using. (I am terrible at house keeping).
ex- I was using a calendar that you could click on a date and a window would popup where you could enter appointments, bdays ect and it added it to the calendar and announce it up to 7 days ahead. But which one was it???
    Dates.txt, Days_Till.txt, holidayCheck.txt, MyReminder.txt, NewHoliday.txt, Days_Till_Reminder.vbs.
I figure if I can get the .mdb file open I can see which scripts went to which events.
    Or is this even possible?

    Thanks,
    Tim

If you have MS Access, that will open it
Running HS PRO V2.5.0.49 & HS Pro V2.5.0.51

      Nope don't have that.
      Will Open Office do it?
It's over kill but can't find anything else.

      Thanks,

Do a Google search for Access or MDB viewer.

There are a few free ones out there.

This problem can also be overcome if necesary. Let me know if you need some help with a locked MDB.

              Well I looked around.
Went to Cnet first, I kinda trust them, really didn't find anything there. They were either very large 15mb and up or they had bad reviews.
Searched the web, yea there are lots of them, too bad I'm kinda skidish after all the prob I had with that bug.
              Any safe suggestions?

              Thanks,
              Tim

You can also put in a help desk ticket and attach your .mdb and we'll get it fixed if it's "fixable".

Rupp, it's not that it's not fixable, it's that I started over. Fresh install of OS and all. What a pain it took 3 days just to get all the windows updates put back on.
What I would like to do is open a mdb file I have on a CD that I backed up back in Oct 2008, to see what scripts, devices, and events I had with what.
I had a ton of garbage, so I am starting completely new, reorginizing everything.
Like in my backup scripts folder I have like 12 news scripts, but can't remember which is the "good" one

                  Thanks,
                  Tim

I do! Access asks for a password every time I try to open the MDB? Any suggestions?

If your MDB is password protected it could indicate that you are running an older version of HomeSeer which wasn't removing this password properly. The latest beta should have fixed this issue.
