    Check your home

    Hi,

    I was looking for the following functionality, some sort of a "check you home" event..
    Let me explain.
    I want to be able to check the status of my home, before I leave, based on all kind of (HS) variables.
    Like everything is okay if:
    - All doors/windows are closed
    - TV's are off
    - Computers are off
    - Internet connection is up
    - etc....

    I know I can write a script, but is this something somebody else allready has used in some form ??

    Thanks...

      Hi,

      I don't think this is what I need...

      I want to set a HS device to a good/bad status depending on the check and if for example 1 windows is open, this has to be reported in a devicecode to show on my touchscreen...

                Rien,

                I have implemented a similar sort of thing via a script and ini file, although it only checks 6 items I think.

                I use the ini file to specify the devices that I want to check and what state they need to be in for OK:

                [Settings]
                OutputDev=W10

                [Device/5]
                OkState=2

                The script is triggered from a "Check House" button and checks only those specified in the ini file for status. If any devices are not Ok, then the device code and current status are added to the devicestring of the output device which is then displayed on the touch screen.

                Also I have a clear button that changes the output device string.

                Paul..

                  Rien,

                  I had a similar need and use an event to trigger the attached script.
                  On line 19 is a dynamic array which will list the sensors included in the status check. Only sensors with an abnormal status will be reported through the hs.speak object.
                  You might want to delete line 39 which covers a virtual sensor with a specific use.

                    Hi Paul and Erik,

                    Thank you for your answers, this is what I'm looking for.

                    Paul can you sent me your scripts/ini file as well. I think your approach is a little bit more generic. (you have my email adres? right ??)

                    LEt you know the outcome as soon as I got things working...
                    Regards,

                      Another approach

                      I have attached a script that I use. It is triggered by an email request from specific senders and can return the current status in an email. Works great.
