    what are you using?
    i got everything installed....

but when I go to sound or volume I get no playback or recording device... so im guessing that this is a Hardware compatibility with server 2008... so want to order a sound card but just seein what yall are using....

I try to stay with Windows 2000 as much as possible...

However, had to upgrade two PCs to Windows XP recently. I do like that XP boots in 1/4 the time on the same machine, as 2000 did. But...the HTPC needed it as the online player for Lost required it!

Oh well...maybe you could downgrade to some other OS just to ensure that the issue is Server 2008? Take out the first drive, put in a second hard drive, install just to test it out...this way you don't loose what you have installed so far...I know you MUST have a spare drive laying around somewhere!!

Tasker, to a person who does Homeautomation...is like walking up to a Crack Treatment facility with a truck full of 3lb bags of crack. Then for each person that walks in and out smack them in the face with an open bag.

I have really had a battle with audio & WS2003. I would also like to use WS2008 as I have a legal copy ready to go. I did get the audio to work with 2003. But, I was never exactly sure what I did to get it to work. I do know that the audio service defaulted to manual in WS2008. So, you might need to check the service.

I am looking a installing WS2008 on a low power mini itx and retiring my $250 / year KWH hog I'm using now.

Let me know if you have found an audio chip set that works with WS2008 & if you have audio working now.
