Powerlinc stopped working*** Fixed ***

SH1132CU PowerLinc USB X10 Controller

It has work great for 2 months now in my new house and today the power went off during the day....something to do with the 14" of rain in 3 days and more on the way. I came home and reset the computers and all the other parts and it won't do anything. I even installed another PowerBooster and still nothing.

Computer log says it's working. I unplug it and replug it and get this:

Any ideas? I hate to order a new one for 100 bucks if it's just a reset issue somewhere I'm missing.

This device is good when it works but I've been through 3 of them in a year and a half. I finally ordered a TI-103.

Not sure if related but I can't log onto HomeSeer from my other computer either....my router should effect the PowerLinc? I rebooted the whole system computer and all....still acting the same.

Does the TI-103 come in USB? I'll have to get another Serial Interface-Converter if I use that one.

Ok...I dug out an old CM11A and changed the port on the serial to usb converter and guess what? It works. So I guess my options are to add another serial to usb converter and use the CM11A or order a new USB Powerlinc of some kind. How does the dual X10/Insteon work? I don't have any Insteon...so maybe this will be the start?

The 2414U are notoriously lousy both at receiving and sending X10 signals.

I would only go with a TI-103 if you want a trouble free interface but it will require another serial port

Yes. It sends a very weak X10 signal

Make sure it's a quality converter or you may encounter issues. This one has been tested and works well with the TI-103

The 1132CU seems to be succeptable to power line blips. We had lightning storm a few weeks ago, and the 1132CU quit working after that. The green LED won't even come on, so I assume it's dead. I think I'm going to follow Rupp's advice and get a TI103 since I've been fighting with a CM15A and can't seem to get it working correctly.

Got my TI103 installed today...with generic usb to serial connector.....but it's reacting slow....not sure if it's the TI103 or the ACRF? Before when the ACRF was connected to the Belkin converter, it worked fine. Wondering if the new converter is the issue or the TI103?

I had the TI103 on com 1 and the ACFR on Com 4.

Ideas?


Another question....if you have a (2 Serial adapter) USB (one plug) and 2 serial plugs...how do you assign the com ports? I was thinking that the adapter would be one com port....not two? TI103 and ACRF on same port?

Ok....I got a USB To 2-PORT Serial Rohs today....works great....so much faster response than the single line USB to Serial.....
