I have some old plugins that I can't delete from my devices listing. They are all from the "EZRain" and "DooStat" devices. Where do I get rid of these in the listing?

Thanks, Unca' Mike! I guess I didn't search quite enough!
[EDIT:] Oops, I spoke too soon. I did all that, and they're still in my devices list!!!! Part of the problem is "Delete all files associated with the plug-in", I did a search for "EZRAIN" and "DOOSTAT" but evidently something is still hanging in there. This is an asinine method of removing a plugin. The authors of HS should be ashamed that a product like this has such lousy maintenance methods.

I'm of two minds on the plug-in deletion question. One part of me agrees that it is unreasonably difficult to completely delete some plug-ins so they leave no trace. On the other hand, I've found that exiting HS, renaming the ocx or dll file and extension, or better, moving it to another directory, has done the trick for me, effectively removing the plug-in.
However, as mnsandler noted, HS preserves devices (presumably by design), so you will need to delete them manually. That can be done most efficiently by putting a check mark next to each device you want to delete, then selecting the 'Delecte selected devices' from the drop-down at the bottom of the list.Mike____________________________________________________________ __________________

I don't care as much about an un-install but, what would be nice is a simple text file that all plug-ins write to a specific directory, detailing what should be removed if you should stop using it. That way should you have to take a plug-in out you would know exactly what files to remove, where they would be located and what devices were made during the install or the plug-ins life. Any other changes the plug-in makes could also be detailed in the same file.Marty

Whew, they're finally gone! But it took the combination of unregistering, file deletion (of "whatever" files), and checkbox deletes to do it. Hope I didn't delete something I shouldn't have just because the name was similar. I agree there should be a more structured environment for the plugins.

This lists the files that are installed and where. It's not cut and dry but it's close.

I've used that on occasion as a guide. I guess my thinking on it was even if that file contained the installed files it would be nice to know what files would be created by plug-in after the install and when the plug-in enabled and put to work, such as ini files data files of one kind or another, database', etc.Marty

At the end of the day, as long as you follow the instructions in the link in Uncle Michael's kind post, the plugin is gone.
If you are worried about bits of it, such a a config or data file, being left on the HD don't. Think of all the scripts in the script library which are no longer used, or for that matter HTML pages.sigpic
