Hey Rick -
Pardon my delayed reply; I've got to get a job with fewer hours.
Anyway, it works! I checked the details in your first reply (no problems there) and then changed the port number, voila - wx data via homeseer. I can't thank you enough for the terrific script and superb instructions for installing same.
It sure was a bit of serindipity for me. I have had a Davis Vantage Pro2 for about a year. Not too many years back I would've rolled up my sleeves and built a script to extract data as you have, but alas I've gotten lazy and was awaiting the day someone else would provide at least a good start.
Well, with the onset of cold weather, I have a real need to automate a few things around the house based on current temps and wind (and the other means I have to import web based services into HS just wasn't satisfactory for me). So I literally arrived home last night full of energy to begin work on a script - that's when I saw yours. I almost couldn't believe what I was seeing.
Anyway, thanks again and I hope I haven't hijacked this thread.
Shawn
