Wiring Diagram for UK Wayne Dalton Thermostat use

    Hi,

I have three combi boilers currently controlled by 3 thermostats.

I want to add control of these to Homeseer.

The most cost effective route seams to be using the WDTC-20's and Z Wave. I have ordered these but need to work out how to wire them to my boilers.

My boilers are swiched very simply with 2 wires switching 240 volts.

I know the WDTC's work on 24 vac and have a transformer available to power them.

I also plan to use a relay on the back of the thermostat to avoid 240 volts being switched by the thermostat.

I am hoping to figure a way of wiring the WDTC-20's. I could do with knowing which contacts I can put 24AC on and which contacts are the stage 1 heat switch. My setup is very simple, no 2nd stage heat, hot water or fan etc.

Have asked wayne dalton helpdesk but no response as yet.

    Hi,

After more reading I have come up with the attached as a wiring diagram. Does anyone agree before I try ?

This assumes I can get a 24vac coiled relay capable of switching 240v AC

    Thanks

That is exactly the way I have my two WDTC-20's connected.

thanks for your reply. Wayne Dalton have just confirmed this. Now all I need is to find some 24vac relays capable of switching 240v in the UK!

Quick update - I sourced some 24ac relays and the thermostats are working fine with this diagram.
