Camera field of view question

Guys,
I'm tired of my X10 cameras dieing on me so I want to get a good camera for my front door. I've tried a couple of cameras but their field of view is too narrow. I like the FOV of my X10 wide-eye and I'm trying to understand how to translate to FOV of the X10 to a normal camera. Any help would be appreciated. Here are the X10 camera specs.

Yep, I've ordered from them before. I just need to find a good front door camera with a wide FOV. Do you have to order the cabling for most of these wired cameras separately?

I bought one that is like the one you see at a bank with an auto-iris lens a long time ago. I wired my own RG-6U. The other one I bought was an outdoor pin hole camera that will be a backup camera for my truck. That one had a pigtail that I'll have to add cabling to. Another one came with 25ft of power and signal cable. They are all different.

You may wnat to go to Ebay and do a search for "Ultrak". I have bought several of these cameras and have been very pleased with them.

You really do get what you pay for when it comes to cams.

Look for low light capability (those IR cams with the LEDs do NOT count). Those LEDs do not have a good range to "light up" a subject.

Since you have a huge difference in lighting between a summer day and night illumination via an outside light auto-iris is a good idea. If you light is too low your picture becomes dark and grainy.

You might also want to Google backilight and washout controls.

So do you guys replace the pinhole in the door with this camera, or do you mount it outside the front door?

What are you using to get the video into the PC? USB? Video Capture Card, etc.
