Using a USB-UIRT with a USB over IP device

Has anyone tried to use a USB-UIRT in a different room than the homeseer server by using a USB over IP device like the one here: http://www.siig.com/ViewProduct.aspx?pn=ID-DS0512-S1?

I'm hoping to be able to put all my a/v devices in one cabinet along with my homeseer server and drive them with a USB-UIRT, but then I still need to control the televisions in each room. The BC4 is a little expensive to have one in every room where I want to control just a TV, a USB-UIRT connected via my network by a ~$60 dollar box would seem a much cheaper solution.

You know, the BC4 routed IR outputs are capable of driving emitters at pretty good distances. We've heard of users going well over 100 feet, using Cat5 to extend the emitter length. If you went that route, you could still centralize a BC4 or two, and use some form of IR distribution to control the remote TVs.

I use the USUIRT with a Cat5 extender (can't remember the exact brand) and it works great at a distance of about 50 feet.

The USB-UIRT works fine with the Belkin USB network hub.

I've been using one for the last 6 months with no issues.
