    External Audio Hardware Recommendations

So I would like to add two audio sources to my house in addition to the ones I currently have. The ones I currently have are controlled by a PC in the bathroom, a PC upstairs and a PC in the living room. I would like to have a speaker at the door when people walk in to announce their arrival. I would also like to have a nightvision baby cam 2 way audio source in the baby room that is also connected to Homeseer Speaker Client.

Any recommendations on which way I should go? I'd like to not spend too much. I was thinking about the following:

    1. Some kind of long range FM Transmitter attached to a pc audio out to a standard always on radio near the door.
    2. Some kind of wireless bluetooth speaker near the door.
    3. Connecting an iPod touch to a wired speaker and having HSTouch broadcast out. (Can it do this?)
    4. A super cheap netbook that has audio out to a speaker.
    5. A win ce device connected to a speaker. Can HSTouch work on it?

For the baby room I think maybe a cheap netbook with nightvision webcam might work. I could try a baby monitor but I wonder if there is a two way audio one that can connect to a pc out?

    Any ideas? Thanks,
    Brian

You don't maybe have an alarm system that has a speaker in the keypads by the doors you could use.

I have an Elk that does something similar when some one comes in and keys their code. I would imagine others would work as well.

Not sure if you are looking for a remote speaker AND mike, or just a speaker.

If you are looking for just a speaker, I use an Apple Airport Express

      http://www.apple.com/airportexpress/

with a powered speaker. I use a program called Airfoil

      http://www.rogueamoeba.com/airfoil/

to forward the audio from the speaker client to the Airport Express. There is even an iPhone (and iPod Touch) app

      http://www.rogueamoeba.com/airfoil/ios/

that will interact with Airfoil. I think the limit is 10 devices.
