Yikes, that's terrifying. We're not just looking at data loss here. Lives could be lost.
Fortunately my company uses only Allen Bradley PLC's so for now we're safe, but it'll be only a matter of time.

Isn't this the virus that attacked the Iran nuclear plant?

One intriguing characteristic of Stuxnet is that it is targeted for a specific system. Infections of other systems results in no damage or activity. Still...wouldn't want to have it lurking in my control system.

So, two lessons: Don't plug in a flash drive whose history you are not certain of. Before opening any folders on any flash drive, scan it for malware.

Given the sophistication of the software and the requirement for significant detailed information about the target system, speculation has been that a well-funded organization - even a government - even the US government - might be behind the attack on the Iranian computers.

We will no doubt soon find that malware/virus are as important as conventional weapons are... think of the damage that could be done and troops lives saved through reduced combat confrontation!

I am sure Tom Cruise has already made that film....

I work at the local power comany here in Nashville TN. We have been keeping an eye on this one... It also targets some SCADA systems, pretty nasty from what I have been reading.
