What kind of Samsung TV do you have? I have a C series but when I power it off with the remote, the Ethernet port goes down so no way to turn it on, either with PI or with the Samsung App.
I was not aware the Samsung App could communicate via IR or BT, this is the "standard" Samsing provided app, correct?

I have a UE40D8000. What do you mean with PI ?
I haven't tested if it is possible to turn on it via BT using the app, but if it is ... does somebody know what to send over BT ? If we know that, we can create a plugin ...
