    Best Thermostat for HS2?

What is the best Thermostat to use for HS2? The nicest and easiest communication. I have been playing with the Venstar but looking to offer a nicer cleaner solution? Any suggestions?

Depends on your protocol of choice and ability to run cabling. If you can run wiring then a serial based tstat is the best and the Proliphix line of stats are some of the best made but price is a premium.

One of the best stats for the money is the Trane Z-Wave stat.

I have two Trane stats and I love them - especially with all of the functionality provided by the BLStat Plugin.

I use the HAI Omnistat (original version). It requires a wired connection but I really like its functionality and the approach HAI took which it is a thermostat first and foremost and can be remotely controlled & programmed. As far as I can tell the z-wave & Insteon solutions only allow remote control not programming. The Omnistat II's are really nice in design but a bit pricey.

The plugin for the HAI stats is very functionally but doesn't appear to be under very much development, if any.

            What is your objective...
Do you care about how well it controls; how energy efficient the control is; how much comfort the control provides; how much adjustabilty exists in the control?
Do you care about how easy it is to use from the front screen, dail, buttons?
Do you care about how reliabile the interface is?
Do you care about having direct external remote control or is routing everyting through Homeseer your objective?
Do you care if it has build in logic for occupancy or other automation features or do you want everything to go through Homeseer?
What are you controllling; Hot air, hot water, heat pump or other?
Does your equipment have multiple stages, multiple speeds, multiple fuel sources, multiple zones?
