What is the reliability of your Insteon network

I am curious how reliable your Insteon network is... After ~250K commands on many of my devices, most of my devices are showing 99% but few are pretty low. Is this normal in the community? Should I expect a more reliable network?

Here is mine. I don't have as many commands as you. Are you polling each device every minute? I only poll a few devices every 5 minutes. I have both X-10 and Insteon in my system. About 70% Insteon, 30% X-10. When I had more X-10 2 way switches on my system, I seemed to get lower reliability on my system.

Thanks skozin, it looks like you have similiar reliability on the network. I do poll quite frequently which probably leads to the high numbers.

Here are mine by type. Note that modules may be unplugged at times and remote links may not have been in communication mode. I also assume that these stats include comm failures during programming. I have never noticed a module fail to be controlled correctly, but perhaps I just didn't notice.

Interesting that you guys are mentioning it. Mine is giving between 96% to 100% but only after adding filters. I still have some that are showing a "?" on the device occasionally. I'm not sure if this is coincidence but the latest plugin is showing more failure. I meant to ask Mark about it but I did not have time yet to submit him a log.
I hope more people are sending their statistics.

I've recently set up my network and have set HS to poll my switches for a bit, but the plugin is still reporting not enough data for every one of my devices. Any idea why?

Do you per chance have your PLM plugged into a powerstrip with surge protection? Surge protectors surpress Insteon signals.

This is very good information as I have just decided to move more toward Insteon and away from X10.

So I have several questions to ask about your networks:

                1. Do you have a lot of dual-band devices in your network?
                2. Do you just use the Insteon phase couplers? How many do you have?
                3. Which PLM do you have?
                4. Do you have x10 power line repeaters/couplers and x10 filters in your house?

If anyone has used just X10, they know that their network can run just fine for weeks and then all of a sudden nothing seems to work right? It's my experience that it is usually something new has been plugged in somewhere in the house that is adding a little more noise on the powerline and it is just enough to now start interfering with the X10 signal

                5. Do you see these kinds of problems with your Insteon networks?
