    Best z-wave compatible around ?

    Greetings to all,

I left VERA and I am going to join Homeseer.
I'm sorry if this has been asked in the past, but I could not find -or did not search enough- any topic about security system using z-wave technology.

I am planning on buying the hometroller pro s3 and a z-troller to connect whatever I have currently.

I'd like to add a security system in the future, something cool with a touch panel eventually. Anyone can recommend something ? I heard in the past about 2GIG (i heard good words because of the nice control panel).

Anyone tried it ? If not, is there anything outside that looks as nice as this one ? The better it looks, the less troubles I'll have with my wife

    Cheers !

If memory serves me correctly it doesn't integrate well with other Z-Wave primary controllers. Use this Google search for the 2GIG Security System on this board, there are a few hits.

    site:board.homeseer.com 2GIG security system

I would recommend the DSC system as it integrates well with HomeSeer and is a very good system and is affordable. Then you can add your touch screens to HomeSeer and control your home and security system.

      Greetings Rupp,

I checked it out. It looks nice because it's all wireless.. But I did not see anything about z-wave in their web site.

How does it integrate with homeseer then ?
      Hard wire ?

      Thank you

Yes the can is hardwired to your HS server via the it-100 but the sensors can be wireless.

          Hi Rupp,

          Thanks again.
Can you buy from DCS directly, or did you have to go through a distributor ?
Any recommendation on the main system, and control panels ?

          Thanks !

not sure how this works.. most likely you would use this instead of homeseer... if that is the case.. i wouldnt use it.. but i was going to look into it to figure out what they are doing. never got to it..

my current alarm is concord 4 and I use the superbus 2000 automation module and it works with my wireless sensors...

but ADT has the ADT Pulse.. it is z-wave.. not sure if there is a way to figure out what model panel it is and buy one... program it and interface it with homeseer.. i think that would be nice...

The ADT Pulse system will not interface with HomeSeer depending on which security panel they install - the panel might interface ie Vista 20p but that is locale specific as to what security panel is installed. Their Z-Wave is very limited at this point to specific part numbers with specific brands. If you are already using HomeSeer really not the way to go IMHO.
