Every Other Week Trigger

I looked at creating reminders in HomeSeer for recycling a couple of years ago as we have an annoying first and third Wednesday schedule. However, I decided it was much easier in Google Calendar. I create the recurring 'appointment' for the approx pickup time on the Wednesday and set two reminders for 10 and 12 hours earlier (I.e. The night before). I have GCal send me an email to the SMS email address of my mobile and therefore receive texts.

Thanks, but I want to trigger an event, not just be reminded. I have considered using a reminder email to trigger the event, but it seems like the script has less moving parts and more potential reliability. Can anyone comment on my lame script below.

I posted 'Daily Reminders' in the scripts library some time back. It can optionally speak reminders on a given schedule as well as run named scripts or events in addition to a few other functions. The package was written in response to a similar request.
