Blue Iris and Foscam cams

Blue Iris has now added the new feature for Foscam cameras call auto-brightness.

Anybody with Blue Iris that can tell us how well it works with the outside cam's?

Me too. I am using a couple of the RS cameras and it works great with those. In fact, I'd recommend you just give it a try. Good software.

Was looking at this software for my dad, going to be putting up a couple of Foscam 04 and 05's at his place and looked like easy software to use, I myself use ZM but I think it would be overly complicated for him ( he thinks computers are the root of all evil anyway)

The Foscam cameras it seems have a firmware glitch with auto-brightness works for a second or two then quits, Blue Iris seems to have work it out with software that's why I was asking.

While I have been searching for answers I have not found any on the new feature, but I did come across this, kind of interesting about the Foscams internals.

Downloaded the demo, loaded it on a windows box at the shop running XP, shut down Zm and loaded up 5 Foscam 05's so-far I'am impressed, easy to set up and use.

The auto-brightness feature seems to work very well, clouds move over head and you can see the cam's compensate for it, the big test will be when the sun starts going down, will see what happens then.

Wish I could get my ZM box to compensate for or control auto-brightness on the Foscam's, script maybe?

Well after a day and a half of testing, Blue Isis has the auto-brightness working very well. One thing I'm not to impressed with is the motion detection, seems like you need to be 10 feet from the cams no matter were you set the sensitivity/contrast/threshold controlls.
