    Fireplace remote...

    http://www.regency-fire.com/Files/Ma...e-GTM-pdf.aspx

Just installed a gas fireplace with the following remote. Seems it operates at 315 MHz. Is there a HS compatible transmitter than could possible learn the RF commands from the remote?
HS3 Pro Edition 3.0.0.435 (Windows Server 8.1 on ESXi box)

    Plug-Ins Enabled:
    Z-Wave:,RaspberryIO:,AirplaySpeak:,Ecobee:,
    weatherXML:,JowiHue:,APCUPSD:,PHLocation:,Chromecast:,EasyTr igger:

If anyone has ANY information about a learning transmitter for RF I would love to hear about it. I have searched in the past and found absolutely nothing.

Computers should not learn to start fire! Age old wisdom.

I can't speak to the RF transmitter, but what about a universal module or equivalent? Not as sexy but just as functional.

I control my fireplace via a z-wave appliance module connected to a radioshack 120V relay (item 275-217). Works great. Previously I was using an X10 universal module. The z-wave module is more reliable. Also, when we are not home, I always turn off the manual switch for the fireplace so there is no chance the fireplace can be turned on by Homeseer. Krumpy is right; computers should not play with fire!

I do something similar. I wired a relay in series with a wall thermostat. I use the RelayBee and Jon00's control script to turn the relay on and off based on the indoor temperature sensor from my weather station console and other criteria like up/in bed and home/away. The wall thermostat puts an upper limit on the fireplace output, and if I want to be sure the fire does not come on, I can set it to off. Of course, if I really want to be sure, I turn the gas supply off.
