Access CM11 from Excel

Can I use MS EXCEL to watch and monitor commands and status of different x10 modules?

I am needing to track things for my aquarium, which is controlled by x10.
Would I need to have HS started, or can I just registar the lib?
Any sample code avail?

You can write a macro in Excel's VBA that makes use of the CM11A ActiveX control from Homeseer's download site. This assumes you are proficient in writing Excel macros. Homeseer does not need to be running to accomplish this. There are other CM11A software drivers that will accomplish the same objective, but the approach is still the same.
