    figure this out

could HS do some thing like this?
I walk into the house, say computer, start a bath.
the computer asks, "what temp would you like?"
    me-"95 degrees"
    comp-"ok your bath is started"
now the tech stuff- 3 solenoids, 1 for hot water, 1 for cold water, one to run bath water from spicket or push water to the shower head.
and of course some x10 stuff so HS can communicate with them, a temp probe so i dont get surprised, and a script or scripts to run the whole thing.
am I getting out of hand here? hahaha

I have automated bath running but I have kept it simple.
2 solinoids one for hot and cold.
On a press of a button it simply runs the hot and cold for a selected amount of time to obtain desired temp.(requires some stop watch action on the initial set up)
    no scripts no temp sensors.
I am thinking of adding a solinoid to the waste pipe? don't know how much I trust X10 though????

How about a thermostatically controlled valve . . . they have them in hospitals and schools so that the hot and cold is mixed so the temperature is stable - reached a preset maximum and wont go above (therefore wont injure anyone). Simply set the theromostatic valve to your desired bath temperature and run both taps! How you are going to turn it off maybe another problem . . . maybe time based or a float switch (could be difficult to wire tho!!). As for X10 reliablity, you could hard wire back to the computers serial or parrallel port for control.
