I am attempting to communicate to a Schlage deadbolt from Homeseer with a Controlthink Z-Wave interface with no luck.

Is an Aeon Labs Z-Stick necessary to talk to the Schlage lock?

You need a interface that uses the latest library-- I think 5.0... The Aeon and Ztroller both support it.
