I routinely dim line voltage and low voltage halogen lamps. I have not tried X10 lamp modules for that, though. I use either Compose (X10) or PCS (UPB) dimmers. I've had no problems, and have seen no detectable effect on lamp life except that my lamps last a very long time. (Many years, even when illuminated many hours every day.)

    That's a good point.

In my case I don't need dimming, just on/off automation.

    Second part first.
I for one do use dimmer modules with Halogen lamps, even though it's not recommended for the sake of the longevity of the bulb. So far, I've not had any burn out prematurely.

Pretty much any appliance module should work fine with non incandescent lamps. That said, some X10 modules have 'current sense' which passes a small amount of current to the load when in the off state. Again, I've never damaged anything in using them.

    Lamp Module for non-incandescent lamps

Are there any lamp modules (or even appliance modules) that support non-incandescent lamps?

Also, do any support Halogen Lamps (which are technically incandescent)?

    Thanks for the info!
