Homeseer as a service and speaker.exe?

Does anyone know how to get speaker.exe to run as a service or otherwise properly in background where you have homeseer setup as a service on the same system and don't login to the console of the server?

Would be great if speaker functionality were baked into the homeseer service or as a plugin.

I'm not sure on your first suggestion about running speaker.exe as a service (at a guess I don't think the WMP libraries play nice as a service so perhaps this is why - I think the speaker.exe uses WMP to play some files).

But, be careful what you wish for, I am writing a plugin that may help you (saw your idea and thought I could use it, I am just running the speaker client on my HS PC and not using VR). It will get TTS from HS, speak it with the SAPI engine and if need be pass it along to other speaker clients, if not it will just speak it. It does not use an external application like the speaker client but will just do TTS, not VR so if you need VR then it will not help you. I will post an update if it ends up working....

That would be cool to try out.

FWIW, I have Homeseer installed on Windows Home Server 2011 (x64). It doesn't seem to have SAPI. I downloaded and installed and at least now speak commands don't give errors and seem to succeed but I hear nothing. maybe a step in the right direction. The media player plugin does work.
