    door sensors

ok so my door sensor keeps tripping back to supervisory and wont arm.. if i unplug the alarm for 10 minutes all is well..

    so gonna replace it..

but what i dont know is this.. as stuff changes with everything.. what is a better unit to get?
    NX-454 is $16 on ebay
NX-650 is $28 on google search...

    does it really matter?
what door windows sensor do you recommend?
    thanks..

oh and for a GE Concord 4 system.. i was able to use all of my old wireless GE sensors from when previous owners had an ADT Safewatch 2000 installed..

Yeah, I think it would be your choice on either. I make sure they aren't the old type and make freq. I bought a bunch off fleaBay for like $15ec of the NX-650's.

In my front door I have a recessed one that I drilled so it is hidden. Your choice really... I've only had one nx-650 go bad on me so far(knock on wood).

Sounds good. That way you can have a sure way to tell if it's a sensor or not. I have quite a few spares in case they stop making them. I also want to add a few to the garage doors so I know if they are open/closed.

Have you ever had your garage button stick and leave your door open... I always check but you never know...

I assume the POTS are on the old one? You shouldn't have to adjust them on new ones. I think you need an analyzer to adjust freq output just like some do by bending x10 antenaes. Not my specialty but tweaking without the tool probably would dork it... Just my .02

ummm i dont have one on mine.. so im wondering if that is the problem...
but it is working right now so i havent put the new one in yet...

i have seen this happen before, i changed the sensor from external contacts to the internal ones. and it seemed to fix the issue,

are you using internal or external contacts?

                OK,

                1. Yes, my sensors have springs which is needed to silence the "tamper" alarm, I think that's what shows up.

                2. What's the debug screen look like in HS for that sensor. Is it really supervisory or something else?

OK, what was that about? I would really look at all the logs to see what is triggering those events, maybe from HS event on and old code value? Its hard to assess without all the info and steps you've done but a 1 sec on/off seems like its something programmatic (OK, problematic too).
