    Pool/Spa Automation? (Valve Actuator Question)

Are there any good Z-Wave controllable Valve Actuators for Pool/Spa Usage?

The Intermatic Timer (CA3750) seems to be a great choice to control On/Off and Scheduling... Now I just need a way to control the Valves (To switch between Pool and Spa) and the Heater.

    Any Ideas?

        WayneW,
Since it s 24V valve, you can use either of these two methods.

Outdoor Zwave module + 24V Sprinkler Power Supply ( like RainBird)
        See discussion here http://board.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=154805

        OpenSprinkler:
If you have More than one valve to control this may be more cost effective. Or you could control the Sprinklers and use one of the relays to control the pool valve.

Does this actuator valve can replace a sand filter multiport backwash valve?

I'm looking to find a cheap way of automating my pool cleaning system which is actually all done manually!!!

I saw a fully automated backwash valve, but at near $3000 it is too expensive!!!

I'm pretty sure we can "motorize" this multiport vavle, in conjunction of stopping the pump between each move, everything can be done remotely using Homeseer.

Any hint? Already discussed? The search function is very limited... sorry!

I have never heard of a motorized multiport backwash valve, but then again, I have never looked for one.

The valves actuators that I listed the specs for are used for "normal" vales for switching between pool & spa mode and for switching the solar heater inline or into bypass. they are also used for turning jets or fountains on/off.

I am not a Z-wave user, so I couldn't answer the OP's question, but I do have my valves controlled by my Elk M1.

I found a PLC Controlled Actuated Valves made by Praher which is exactly what im looking for!

But at $1000 this is a little bit expensive!

              Continuing searching...

              Thanks.
