My Evolve LPM-15 Load Current Sense is not worked.

I bought a new Evolve LPM-15 Appliance Module to control a fan in my kid's room. My plan is turning off the fan in the night when the temperature is lower than a defined degree. If my child wake up in the morning and found the fan is turned off. He just need to turn the fan on again to recovery the power state.

The Load Sense feature of my Evolve LPM-15 is default to OFF. I found there is a "Current Sense" setting in the configuration screen. I tried to set the setting to "Use Load Current Sense", and turn off the appliance module from HS. When I turn off and turn on the fan again, nothing happened.

My outlet has just 2-wires, without ground connected. Is ground wire required to enable the Load Sense function? Or I can't use a fan to auto-detect the load? How should I test the load sense function is OK for my LPM-15 module?
