Hello Richard,

The issue that you are experiencing is not with the Ti103 plugin, but the HS compatibility engine, which provides a COM interface for older, non .Net plugins such as the Ti103.

Another user recently had the exact same issue and that discussion can be found here: http://board.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=155371

I would recommend reading through that thread and trying what he did to see if it restores the compatibility interface. If not I would suggest opening a HS Helpdesk ticket.

Please let us know what happens.

Update hs_compatibility.exe issue not solved

For the error -

I read through the articles and searches and tried running as administrator for homeseer.exe as well as hs_compatibility.exe set to administrator level.

No joy. Is this a incompatability issue? Also how do I open a HS Support ticket. That was not clear.

Did you try a reinstall of the latest version of HomeSeer?

I think I ran the current update. HomeSeer Version: Standard Edition 2.5.0.49

file - HomeSeerUpdate2_5_0_49.exe

Is that the correct method?

Same issue in log. The Interface willl not load?

Simply disable the TI-103 plugin and save. Restart HomeSeer and use Internet Explorer to enable this plugin and it should work fine. This bug is being fixed in HS3.

Still does not work - broken hspi_ti103.ocx

Can not get this interface to load....so I can not get TI103 connected.

Tried all the suggestions, still get the Error -

This error:
Error Unable to initialize HomeSeer 1.x compatibility interface
Points to an invalid HomeSeer install state or a permissions issue. Are you running HS as an admin user? Do you have UAC enabled? Try doing a repair on your HomeSeer installation or try installing a trial on another PC to see if the plugin will install.

What should the permissions be for a the hs_compatability file?
Something I can check on here?

#download and install a full version over the existing? Are you saying use the repair choice?

I kept a folder copy of my HS in another folder renamed it and then un-installed HS from control panel.

Did a new install (this would be from scratch then) and had to license all the components;

If you do massively struggle I have a vb.net version of the TI plugin (that does not rely on the HS 1.x interface), I believe it sort of works in the US but due to some of the more exotic devices that are simply not available here I could never test it fully and as such was never released. It works for me with simple on/off/dim commands, it might be better than nothing if you are struggling that much.

Rupp can you help us here? HSPI_TI103.HSPI

Rupp, mrhappy has offered the VB based TI plugin (that does not rely on the HS 1.x interface).

Is there any else I can do to get the HSPI_TI103.HSPI working? It is a solid X10 interface for years but now it is dead on HS's install. I listed what steps I went through last night, did I cover all the bases to get this working?

- Are you running HomeSeer as a service?
- HomeSeer must be ran with an admin account logged into the PC.
- Disable User Access Control
Then see if this error still exists.
