    RFXcom

    Hey Folks,

Need some help with the RFXcom wireless receiver. I need to know if this receiver will accept inputs from wireless door and window contacts from DSC and others that are also on the 433Mhz frequencies?

These DSC transmitters are on the 433.92 frequency so my question is whether this device can see everything in the entire 433 or if there is something specific?

I went to their site and it does not really say much.

Also, what else does this receiver help with or connect with?

But DSC is on American Freqs. and RFXcom is more based in the UK so could that be why it is not on the list??

As far as I understand the Rfxcom products, the firmware is written to support the protocol that the listed devices use on the specified freq.

But ask in the RfXcom forum, b_weijenberg has very good support for his products. I really recommend his products (if they fit your needs)

Edit: also http://rfxcom.com/store/Transceivers/12102 supports American freq Visonic senors 315mhz

You are right, it is not just a case of all sensors on a specific frequency are received. It is a case of including sensors in the firmware that can be received, so the RFX device actually knows how to understand what message the device is sending, and the devices code etc.

There is limited space on the devices, but there may be the capacity to expand the devices the RFX receiver can receive, but you would have to ask in the RFXCOM sub forum.
