    Valid password length & characters

    Are there limits on the length of a password set in the web users field?

    What about using symbols? I tried a password with a colon and it didn't seem to work.

    I'm not sure about the lengths or limitations but using a colon in a web interface is a no no for sure.

        Again I'm not sure how it's coded but I would try and see what the code allows.

          That just doesn't sound right. Are you referring to the password box that faces the internet?

            I am just talking about my homeseer user and password that is entered in the Setup\Web Users tab shown here:

            This is the username and password you enter for local area logins if the "Require Password for Local Area Logins" it set for YES.

            I can't imagine there being a symbol limitation since it is a standard practice to use upper/lower case letters, numbers and symbols in passwords for security.
