Iris adds water flow meter and also UL remote-able garage door

    http://www.cepro.com/article/staples...n_at_ces_2014/

Both tie-into the Iris system. Nice that Lowes is quickly moving beyond just the obvious "me too" offerings.

I didn't know there was a special category of long-distance remoteable garage doors that beep/flash in advance of opening/closing, but it's smart. If you're in the way, at least you'll have 5 seconds warning to get out of the way!

I have an Auto closer on my garage door (https://www.autocloser.com) that beeps for 30 seconds then drips the for a bit and reopens then gives another 10 seconds before fully closing the door. There is a button to override/cancel this. You define how long the door can be open before it automatically closes. I don't get feedback to HomeSeer or otherwise but at least the for closes when I forget. I've had it for years and love it. Easy to install and works on all openers that have a wired connection for a contact button to open/close. I don't know of any that don't, but I'm also not up on all garage door openers.

Thanks for that. I noticed on your link they also sell a biometric opener:

which would be nice, because then my son can get into the garage to park his bike. The way most regular keypads are implemented, they seem too vulnerable to a brute force password attack (or to a youngster spilling the beans and telling his friends what the keycode is).

HS can achive this, with a sensor talking to HS and a horn and some timing or You can also use this http://magiccloser.com/.
