I've never used Rfxcom and need to buy the receiver and Plugin, button I have seen some information about needing RFXCOM RFXtrx433E for Somfy Control.

Can you give me any advice and let me know if Rfxcom device on the Homeseer Store is the correct component.

I'm in the US and want to make sure I get the correct Rfcom Transreceiver.

This is good info. I have the Somfy Z-Wave controller, and it's quite limited. Doesn't provide status, and only does up and down, no my button.

Thinking out loud, one more idea for Somfy control.

        Somfy makes a universal controller:
        http://www.amazon.com/Somfy-Universa.../dp/B00OD3CCUQ

That device interfaces with this controller:
        http://www.autelis.com/shade-control-for-somfy-rts.html

Spud has a plug-in for an Autelis pool controller, and seemed pretty amenable to modifying it for a different type of Autelis controller, so you might want to ask him whether he'd do this one, too:

The RFXrec433E in the Homeseer shop is a receiver.
You need the RFXtrx433E transceiver http://www.rfxcom.com/RFXtrx433E-USB...Transceiver/en

I use the RFXtrx433E transceiver for my Somfy and it works great. And cheaper solution.

So, is all that's required is this transceiver? How does the transceiver talk to the Somfy motors?

It is using the Somfy RTS 1-way protocol.
The RFXtrx433E can be seen as a Somfy Telis4 remote and can control up to 40 Somfy motors.

Where did you get yours? I was told they don't pass "spec" for North America. I haven't seen them available for sale anywhere either.

Hi Jim, you can buy direct from rfxcom.com, or RollerTrol in NA: http://rollertrol.com/store/en/rfxco...ansceiver.html.

                    Cheers

I bought mine direct from RFXCOM. They ship worldwide.

Thanks Al. Rollertrol actually STOPPED selling the unit. I had all originally specced out by them 8 months ago. But since then, they have changed motors and gone with the zwave approach at far more cost!
