Homeseer Speaker has quit working win2008 - Solved!

Hello,
I'm trying move HS2 to a new machine. I have a clean 64 bit windows 2008 installation and the updates appear current.

I loaded HS2 v 2.5.0.1 on the new machine and when it started I got the message:
homeseer speaker has stopped working
system.invalidoperationexception

I've seen similar. Thinking its a dot net thing. (CLR20r3)

Check your dot net stuff with a dot net checker. You might have to do a repair / reinstall.

I downloaded a dot net checker from MSDN.
It checked for versions 2 through 4.5.1 and verified all of them.
I remember discussions about v 1 & 1.5 from the distant past, have they been replaced by v2?

I would recommend updating to the last version of HS2 which is .81 and is available via the blue downloads button above in the older versions section.

Yup here my issue is getting speaker dot exe to run in Wine with Microsoft SAPI.

I got it running but had to throw the kitchen sink at it and I still cannot figure out what I did.

This is relating to using Homeseer Microsoft only OS stuff on my Ubuntu Linux touchscreens.

Thinking though it relates to shutting off Wine Mono and enabling all of MS dot net stuff in Wine.
