I am in the process of adding smart devices to my new house, and have some questions about alarm/security system.
If I buy my own alarm system such as ELM or DSC and hire someone to install it, how does it communicate to central monitoring station?
Since alarm companies all provide free systems and free installation(up to certain coverage), why bother buying my own system? the alarm company that I use for my business got me DSC + cellular module for free.
