    TEMP08

I am having trouble with TEMP08 readings in Homeseer 3. I have modified the original Homeseer "Com4_event.vbs" script to work with HS3. It is working fine. Right now, I only have the TEMP08 connected, no external temperature sensors, and I am using the onboard temperature as device R1 in Homeseer 3. HS3 is getting the temperature string and the temperature value from the TEMP08. And everything looks fine in HS3. I have an HS3 event that will trigger when the temperature rises to 77. The event triggers properly.

The problem occurs when I restart HS3. For some reason, whenever I restart HS3, the R1 device in HS3 looses the temperature value/string association. The HS3 string is correct for device R1 , but the value of R1 appears to be the value when HS3 previously shut down. And it will not change. It seems to ignore the hs.setdevicevalue command in the script! The event no longer works after the restart.

If I delete the device R1 from HS3 and recreate it, everything starts working properly again?

Is anyone else seeing this problem? Any suggestions?

    All ideas are greatly appreciated.

I had some issues when I tried to convert the code to HS3. I found Blade's free BL1Wire plug in and have never looked back. I'm only running a couple of sensors at the moment and the plug in works

Does BL1wire work with the TEMP08?

Yes I'm using a Temp08. It is quick and easy to setup and try.

I had some issues when I had to rebuild my HS3 setup and Blade was a great help in getting me up and running.

The plug in is in the updater under
Analog & Digital Input/Output Device Support
and you just need to do a quick setup (enter your com port). I think you will also need to create (or reuse) a device and assign it to the sensor (under the sensor option)/

Barry, thanks, I will give it a try. What version of HS3 are you using?

0.97. The Temp08 is old. I need to add back senors and since Blade's plug in auto discovers them, should be simple.

              I am using HS3 0.96 thanks.

I installed the BL1wire plugin and it is working. Easy install!

I wish I had known about this sooner. I spent a lot of time rewriting my HS2 script for the TEMP08. Why isn't this plugin named "TEMP05/08 Plugin for HS3"?

I will evaluate the plugin for a few days and see what happens upon restart. Thanks for the help.
