      I have one. Works fine.
Can't speak to HS3 however. I haven't bothered to try as it's currently connected to HS2.

Wadenut, does yours have a serial connection?
The one I got off ebay looks like the pic below.
I can get the "green" reset light to come on, but not the "red" light to start ir learning.

        Thanks,
        Tim

did it come with a disk? it has a program you can use to learn and send codes. if youre using hs2 use the plugin so it saves the codes within hs. if the irlinc and hs2 are conversing; when you click the plugins learn button the red light will illuminate and go out once the code is learned. if youre using hs3,(someone correct me if im wrong) i think youre out of luck as a plugin has not been developed.

            No disk with the unit.
Instruction book listed what should be there and it comes with no disk.
It also does not plug into the PC.
The little black box plugins into the large grey outlet looking thing(looks like a phone jack), then it plugins into the wall outlet.
Then you are supposed to hit the Reset button on the back, the red light comes on, saying it is ready to learn codes. You point your remote at it, push the desired button, then send a x10 code with On, Off, or Dim to control that function on your TV.
Alas, the little black box is dysfunctional so I am sending it back.
Will have to try another route.

            Thanks,
            Tim

                  Here's what I have.
There was a disk. It contained a whole lot of manuals, etc for various products Smarthome sold at the time. I zipped that up, but it's too big to upload to the board. If you want it, I can try to split it up.

My black box looks just like yours, but plugs into the grey lamp module looking thing, then into the wall. Mine doesn't have the separate power supply.

If i could find a power supply and a cable like what you are showing, I may give it another try.

                    Thanks,

If you PM me an email, I can send this ZIP. It's a bit over 6Meg so I split it up. I'll likely take two emails.

There's a label on the bottom of mine indicating two models. Mine being "PC to IR Version Model 1623PC". Your model is likely "X10 to IR Version Model 1623".
