    Leviton Scene Controllers (VRCS4-M0Z)

Hello, I have 7 Leviton Scene Controllers (VRCS4-M0Z) with custom engraving that I'd like to use on HomeSeer. They worked on Vera correctly.

It included fine and I ensured all the scene controller child node Z-Wave buttons had a unique scene # assigned as I read in other HomeSeer scene controllers.

However, only 2 of the buttons work report to HS when pressed. And, 2 buttons both seem to announce themselves as Scene 4 in HS.

Has anyone had any luck with the Leviton Scene Controllers?

    Devices:

    Root Node Z-Wave:

    Child Node (buttons 1-4):

I got all the buttons working after reading some threads on Cooper to ensure that:

A: In the root device, I associate groups 1-4 with Homeseer
B: In the 4 child nodes (buttons), I create a scene with Homeseer as the association. Then save and test.

However, what is not working is turning on Scene 1 will turn any other Scene (2-3) off. It seems on HS, only one scene is active at a time. That is a HS fail and not the device.

It worked perfectly as a multi scene controller for 2+ years on Vera where multiple scenes could be switched on and off independently (press once to turn on, press again to turn off...LED matches On/Off).

Very bummed as this will halt my conversion to HS as I have $150 for the scene controller + $50 for custom engraving...that's $1,400 to fix HS bug (and Cooper have no custom engraving option).

Ok, more HS issues with Leviton Scene controllers. This one is the 2 button scene controller Leviton VRCS2-MRZ that also controls 2 loads (in my case, left and right closet lights).

      Config:
Root Device: Group 1 and 2 to HomeSeer I sassociations
Child Node Button 1: Scene is HomeSeer and Left Closet Light
Child Node Button 2: Scene is HomeSeer and Right Closet Light

Pressing button 1 (B1), turns on B1 LED and Left Closet Light
Pressing button 2 (B2), turns on B2 LED and Right Closet Light

Even though both are on physically (LED and Light), HS UI shows B1 scene off when I turn B2 On...even though both are still physically on (LED and lights).

Also, I can't seem to turn on the scene controller from HS. Meaning, I can't press "scene on" for that button from the web UI and have that scene LED light on the device. It will turn on the light, just not the scene controller LED.

I don't think HS is talking correctly to Leviton scene controllers (any model).

I'm experiencing the same issue described here.

I'd like to use the on/off buttons on my 4 button leviton zone controllers (VRCZ-M0) to control something other than lights and not necessarily have them limited to turning a scene on and off. I've followed the suggestion in this post and I can get some functionality however it is not fully working as it should.

I can't control the buttons through the interface. If I hit on (on the keypad), I can't hit off on the web interface. I have tried polling, but that does not get them in sync either. This seems pretty basic, and can't imagine that homeseer would dispute that a z-wave device ought to be able to be controlled by the web interface or the actual physical buttons in a seamless way.

When I use the buttons on the keypad itself, the led's light up in a way that is completely nonsensical to me. I can't get them to turn off. I am attaching a video (ignore the labels on the buttons) since a picture is worth a thousand words.

Prior to HS3, I used these very same controllers in Vera and each side of the button (on, off) was able to control any scene or device I wanted. In fact, the on and off could start 2 different scenes so this scene controller was effectively an 8 button controller.

I'm no technical expert on z-wave, but since we know these devices function a certain way with other controllers, this must be a function of how homeseer's z-wave plugin is recognizing this device and then interacting with it. If that is the case then if Homeseer wanted to fix the problem, they could. Has anyone ever directly contacted Homeseer about how these devices don't function as they should? Has anyone ever filed a report in their bugzilla interface?

On my VRCS2-MRZ's I have only been able to get the
Root and Scene Controller Button 1&2 to show up. I have not been able to get any of the loads to show up in Homeseer. Anyone have any instructions or advice to get all 5 devices instead of 3 to show up in homeseer?

          Thanks,

I have a couple of the 4-button zone controllers and use 3 buttons to activate scenes and one button controls a light. I have the root, the 4 scene buttons and the one load visible in HS. The load gets added as a completely separate z-wave node. I used instructions on this board to set them up. I'll see if I can dig that up.

            Cheers

PS This post gives some of the info: http://board.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=119759. I think the rest was in the Leviton manual.

              Thanks,

Only thing I have to try right now is this. I'll be at this house this weekend and hoping to have them all setup then.

I have added my 5 switches this weekend and came up with some new instructions that may help some.
