I have an odd situation where I have an event that turns on one device (an X10 irrigation control relay), but occasionally after this event runs several devices with the same floor/room designation (i.e. other relays) get turned on. The "on" icons appear in the status page, but log only lists the on event for the intended device. Yesterday afternoon a similar thing happened with a device off command for the same set of valves. Since these other device changes aren't turning up in the log, I assume the problem is with my cm11a and/or the X10 plugin. Anyone know how I can troubleshoot this?

A 'feature' of X10 is that each command is sent in two independent messages. A1 On, for instance is sent as A-1, A-On. That scheme can be used to combine multiple commands together, so you could send A-1, A-5, A-9, A-On to turn all three devices on at once.
The controller stores the last devices adressed, and will sometimes construct that combination when you don't want it. I'm not sure if that is what is happening in your case, but if the house code for all the devices that activate at once is the same, I'd be suspicious that this might be the cause.
Work arounds include using more house codes, or deliberately sending a dummy command to a house code you do not use immediately after each 'real' command.Mike____________________________________________________________ __________________

If you're not out on the edge, you're taking up too much room!
