Any Reason Not To Install "LTSB" & "N" Version of Windows 10 Enterprise?

I was looking for a stable version of Windows to deploy my new HomeSeer Server. I was thinking of using Windows 10 "LTSB"...or Long Term Servicing Branch. Any experience with LTSB and HomeSeer? Any components missing in that HomeSeer needs?

Also, do you need to use the "Windows Media Player" components in HomeSeer? I was also hoping to install the "N" version that doesn't include components I won't need.

    More info on "N": http://superuser.com/questions/46220...s-of-windows-8

    Thanks!

PS - Enterprise LTSB version of Windows requires a MSDN subscription....so sadly not available for home users.

Not sure of Windows 10, but i'm using windows N version of 8.1 for my HS3 server. Everything is pretty much the same, except for the optionally installed Windows Media component, as you said.

It's needed for running speaker client if i'm not mistaken, and HS spews out a non descriptive error message when this is missing. That lead me to a wild goose chase for a bit, especially since voice announcements via Sonos was not affected by this, so i thought the 'media' part was not the problem.

Ps: are you getting them from reddit microsoftswswap?

Thanks! I guess no need to go "N" then Appreciate your saving of a lot of time.

I have a legal method to get them as an MSDN subscriber for the moment to be able to get the LTSB build.

The LTSB seems like a better way to go for an HA server as I've had a few Windows 10 upgrades to later builds that messed with my previously installed apps.

Oops, i missed telling the part where installing the Windows Media component completely cleared the problem for me So in my case, Win 8.1 N + Windows Media install = Win 8.1 Pro.
