New Shop, homerun sensors or remote box?

    Howdy,

I'm starting to rough in the electrical in my new dream shop, 60x40 with 14 foot ceilings located about 150' away from the main house. I plan on putting 5 sensors in, three doors, 1 motion, 1 smoke. Should I homerun all the wires back to the main panel or put a security subpanel out there?

    thanks!

Based on your signature, it looks like you have a DSC panel. I would put a PC5108 8-zone expander module in your shop with a separate power supply. The 5108 then uses 4 wires to connect to your main panel.

    Cheers

Thanks Al, that makes lots of sense. Also allows me to put a keypad out there.
