    TeleFragger's HS & 3rd Party Plugin Issues

Ok so now I am going to go and get my stuff up and running as you can see here...

    http://forums.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=177284

So I have already found 1 issue with a 3rd party plugin and also an issue with an OLD time HS X10 finding.

I can put in Bugzilla for HS... and also do separate posts for all 3rd party stuff I find but figured let me keep this as MY First Time getting HS3 up and running issues found topic and will link back if needed to separate posts...

    first is first...
    as of 10/17/15 @ 10:19am

    Current Date/Time: 10/17/2015 10:19:58 AM
HomeSeer Version: HS3 Pro Edition 3.0.0.208
Operating System: Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials - Domain Controller
System Uptime: 0 Days 11 Hours 1 Minute 45 Seconds
    IP Address: 10.66.10.230
    Number of Devices: 74
    Number of Events: 0

    Enabled Plug-Ins
    2.0.83.0: BLRF
    3.0.1.11: CONCORD
    0.1.0.1: FitbitSeer
    3.0.0.75: HSTouch Server
    30.0.0.29: RFXCOM
    3.0.0.36: X10
    3.0.1.25: Z-Wave

    3rd party plugin
    *** Concord 4
    - Upon fresh installation Log directory did not get created. Manually created then all errors launching HS3 went away
    C:\Program Files\Homeseer HS3\Logs\Concord

    HS Specific
    *** X10
    - When setting up a motion sensor I went in and chose
    Status Only Device:
When this was selected on Device Management there is now no On/Off which is what I wanted as it is a motion....
But NO updates happen anymore. I cannot get motion or dark to trip or update. Status doesn't update, Last Change doesn't update. As if item is broken.
Delete sensor and add new and don't check that off... works great....

    *** X10
    - X10 is so very sketchy right now. I can hit a light on from the hs status page and it will shut off a light... try turn on and it wont.. wait a bit.. try again and it will turn on...
... I know maybe something is plugged in killing the signal thus I will be chasing this one down. I did have a few things setup with HS even though I wasn't really using it. I had concord 4 plugin and a few lights on/off with time which are x10 and they always worked. Going to try it again.
*** FIX.. Delete plugin and add again now fixed

    *** X10
    - X10 ToggleLinc switches wont program.
You are supposed to hold LED button in for 3 seconds. Light turns on and LED blinks. Take Palm pad and turn code on (BoosterLinc On) or off (BoosterLinc Off).
I could not get O10 On to program. messed with it for 2hrs... figured it out.
*** FIX.. Must add device to HS FIRST and I also set it to Preset. Now programs fine

Delete your motion sensor and add it as an Appliance Module. Set the Unit and House Codes of the sensor on the X10 tab in the device setup.

Right I did that.. but now I am seeing a different issue... X10 all around is buggy...

my fish tank main power switch is a 23890w 2 way x10 switch... it will turn off and on with different clicks... same as the family room light switch which is also a 23890w... issue isn't switches as I have these all over the house and it is doing it all over...

I'm wondering if it is something that got plugged in somewhere... so I will run around tomorrow after soccer and see if it is that...

Try this relating to your X10 PIM / X10 plugin

            1 - Install Microsoft Portmon
2 - write down the port number you are using for your X10 stuff. Enable the console for the X10 plugin. (I think there is one).
            3 - shut down Homeseer
            4 - start portmon monitoring x10 port
5 - start up Homeseer / watch the X10 console window.
6 - play with x-10 and watch portmon.

You should see the communications instantly (and no com errors) when you send or receive X10 stuff.

You can test your X10 signals using an old X10 keypad if have one around. (or signal tester).

Here using Ubuntu HS3 / CM11A / XTB X10 amp (on one phase) and see no issues.

so interesting thing I found out last night..

I spent 2hrs... got a x10 light switch... 23890w 2 way togglelinc switch put in. O10. I tried configuring it but couldn't get it to work. You hold the led button in for 3 seconds. Light will turn on and led blinks. You take a palm pad and hit o10 on for boosterlinc on or o10 for boosterlinc off. I hit o10 on and the lights did not flicker so not programed.

2hrs of messing with it. This morning I still couldn't and said... Wait let me add it into HS to see if I can turn it on. I added the device and tried it. Nope not set to o10. I then tried programming it again and viola...

so x10 togglelinc switches you MUST add to HS FIRST!!! then program.

I vaguely remember few years ago having to do this and at my age my brain don't remember... hah...
