    X-10 signal problem

    Need some help/advice.

I still have many x-10 devices. That being said, up until recently they have been very reliable. I began having problems where the signal was not getting to any devices although the HS Log showed the signal being sent correctly.

I finally tracked the problem to a faulty SignaLinc Repeater for 3-Wire Dryer Outlet device. It works great for a period of time and then it locks up and send garbage on the line so that nothing gets through to the devices. If I unplug and re-plug it at the dryer connection everything goes back to normal for a period of time. Sometimes it is 30 minutes until it acts up again and sometimes it is half a day. Doesn't seem to be any thing in particular that triggers it to lock up. The WAF has dropped to an all time low.

I tried just removing the repeater, but the signal will only reach about 1/2 of the house without it. I also tried the "passive unit" but again the signal is not strong enough with the amplifier portion of the Signalinc to work reliably.

Efforts to buy a replacement Signalinc have come up short and they are no longer made. I don't have room in my electric panel for 2 dedicated breakers to try the signal bridge/amplifier using that approach.

I am currently using the CM11A as my x-10 comptuer interface. Would upgrading to the Ti103 device send a stronger signal than the CM11A? Are there any other interfaces or options that I should consider?

Any help/guidance is greatly appreciated - I have been running smoothly for over 2 years and now I can't get through a day with big problems.

If anyone has a spare SignaLinc Repeater for 3-Wire Dryer Outlet device and wants to sell it - I'm your buyer...

    Thanks

Yes it would and coupled with a passive repeater may give you good signal on both phases. I would also consider this interfacw: http://jvde.us/xtb_232.htm.

I can highly recommend the XTB232 as per the link and also if you are looking for a signal repeater then the XTB 11R is extremely good.
Both these items completely transformed my system

Here kept the old CM11As / TW523's online and added the Volp stuff a few years back. Today using one original XTB and one TW-523 dual phased emulator. I have no issues with X10.

It's been a few years now that I have sent the UK XTB stuff and TI stuff over to the UK for testing. The best results leaned towards the XTB stuff.

Here did utilize TI originally in the early 2000's then switched over to XTB stuff and found that I liked it much better.

Note too that I have tried doing X10 stuff using an Insteon PLM and was not happy with the results of the X10 stuff with Homeseer 2.

Folks have been reporting some issues using X10 in Homeseer 3. Here have only tested and doing basics with HS3 / X10.

Mostly X10 stuff is with HS2 and my OmniPro 2 panel. I have no issues with it. That said once the OPII HS3 Plugin is completed then I can just use it to manage X10,UPB and Z-Wave stuff plugged in to it. I do have multiple Z-Wave networks configured today and HS3 Zee-2 is controlling one said set up today.
