    Speaker for Windows?

Can someone tell me why I can't dowload Speaker for Windows from the downloads page at HomeSeer.com? Has it been "recalled"?

I don't think there's currently a stand alone installer for this. Believe you have to download the whole HS3 package.

Are you sure? And when did this happen? It wasn't true for HS2. So does this mean I have to download and install HS3 on my laptop, even though I'm only going to use the Speaker client? Or is there a separate installer in the download file?

Here created a directory on the XPe clients which have both HSTouch and HSSpeaker.

Utilize a USB stick and just copy the files; it isn't an issue and you will not break your HS3 server.

        I called it hs3.

You need a few files from the windows HS3 directory to get speaker dot exe working.

hs3 directory includes (using probably more than I need).

Did a quickie check here and thinned it. Working fine.

This is correct. Download the entire HS3 app and only run the speaker.exe.

Thank you for that, Pete, but I've just had hip surgery and cannot get upstairs to the HS server. I am looking for Speaker.exe to put on my laptop which is DOWNstairs. So I will go with the standard solution, download HS3 and just install Speaker.

Thanks. So weird that they don't just create an installer and put a link to it on the download page - they have it listed there, just not linked. It's not like there's an extra charge or anything....

OK, so, just to confirm that when I begin the HS3 installation, I will be given the opportunity therein to ONLY install the Speaker client, is that correct?

No. You install the whole shebang, but don't run hs3 just run speaker.exe.

OK, so now what do I do? Where in the docs do I find out how to direct this client to the HS3 installation on my server? I know it has two variables separated by a colon, but where in the setup do I do this? Is the first variable just the network name of my laptop?
